well i wish someone would write something about the youth band tour so that i can read it over and over again and keep checking to see if anything has been added.  then, if there are pictures, i can keep looking over my glasses and pressing my face right up to the computer screen to see if any of the people in the pictures belong to my family or go to my corps.

hi.

just trying to keep my xanga up to date.

let's see...i miss my boys because they are on their train trip.  they come home the day after tomorrow.  yippee!

i bought my vegetables and i am going to try to plant them tomorrow since the rain is coming on saturday.  i got tomatoes, cucumbers, kohlrabi, zucchini, and snow peas.  i love growing vegetables and have decided i am going to have a grand vegetable garden some day when i retire.

i went running the other day and tripped over my own feet and fell.  i have fallen many a time, usually because i trip over a root or crack in the sidewalk.  what made this different was that i fell in the middle of a fairly busy road.  yikes!  i crawled to the side as fast as i could and then i got up quickly and looked around to see if anybody saw me.  then i thanked the Lord i didn't get run over by a car and then i said out loud, "i hate it when that happens."  i just kept going but i was very sore that day and the next day.  i have also been plagued for a few months now by a groin injury.  it basically hurts all the time, even while i am laying down or sitting still.  i think tomorrow i will go swimming and hope to ride my bike more now that the weather is warmer.  once i stopped running for a week and started up again on the treadmill and it seemed to help.  i may have to do that again.   ugh.  i hate injuries.  it really makes it hard to run any further than a couple of miles.

so basically that has been my life of late.  i am getting itchy for warm weather and vacation.

hello, everyone.

obviously i haven't updated in a long while.  i have been super duper busy.  we had our corps anniversary weekend the first weekend of april and the second weekend of april we had a visit from the stockholm band and our own gny youth band.  also the stoops came for palm sunday and we had a major cantata written by our very own lois rader.  it took alot of practice time.  in the middle of all of that, i got sicker than i have been for a very long time with some kind of respiratory ailment.  it was during our anniversary weekend of course.  i had a couging fit in my office and felt my throat closing up.  i literally was having a very hard time breathing and was scared for about fifteen minutes.  stephen was with me and he was scared too...but it passed.  it's nice to have a doctor in the congregation (doc rader) who was very helpful.  anyway, it involved alot of housecleaning and corps cleaning and set up and i thank the good Lord that i found an excellent caterer.

easter is tomorrow and i am preaching at an ecumenical sunrise service on the beach.  this always makes me start to dream about old orchard and vacation.  i miss my boys very much.  they are on a cross country train trip with our corps sargeant major for their spring break.  it is a wonderful opportunity for them.  you can stay posted by reading stephen's xanga.

so i guess that is the news for now.  i hope everyone is well and feeling refreshed spiritually by this joyous season.

so stephen was amazing in his play.  i can understand why all the girls love him.  he was so suave and debonair...not to mention the fact that he did a killer rendition of "luck be a lady."  i am worried he won't want to go running in the morning because i am sure he is exhausted from all his performances...but maybe he will feel badly for eating out alot and decide he has to go running.  my mom and dad were reading an amazing birthday card stephen made for me that i keep on my mirror.  it is the best.  he also made a cd of all my favorite songs and i cried when i listened to it cuz i couldn't believe how many songs he knew i liked because he had listened to comments i made here and there when one came on the radio or was mentioned.  anyway, on the eve of his birthday, i would like to pay tribute to stephen michael ditmer.  he is the funniest kid i know.  he is interesting and not afraid to march to the beat of a different drummer.  he is sensitive to people and cares about their feelings.  he is sooooooooooo creative and smart and loves adventure.  he loves the outdoors and animals.  he is a great friend to his friends.  he is a wonderful son.  i love you, stephen.  God gave me a most precious gift when he gave me you!  i hope you read this!

so my last entry was one month ago.  wow!  i guess the novelty of xanga has worn off and everyone has gone to "my space."  well, i thought i would update and see if anyone else gets the spark.

my life has been very busy.  i am happy for meghan, who just started her spring break today.  stephen is in his play this weekend, "guys and dolls."  he is sky masterson.  i feel like i don't see him anymore or really talk to him, so, stephen, i will be glad when your play is over.  we are going to see him tonite and i am excited.  then, he turns 18 on sunday!  woohoo.  it seems hard to believe.  he can vote now, which is good for the republicans.  hooray.  seth is becoming a super drummer and is going to the nysb future all stars weekend today.  i am excited to hear him play on sunday afternoon in the festival.

i have been getting fat and it is time to take charge, people!  summer is coming.  i have been exercising, but eating way too much.  last night i went to benihana with the home league ladies.  we had the most pleasant evening (partly because a couple of the complainers decided not to come!).  i ate so much food and had green tea ice cream for dessert.  then i went home and had a big piece of cake.  i am out of control!!!!

i will let you all know how i am doing in a later entry.  hugs and kisses all around!
